We have simplified our two-stage application process even further this year. In order to minimise the work involved for both the artist applying and us assessing the applications, the initial application will take the form of a simple EXPRESSION OF INTEREST form in which the minimum information required by the festival organisers to assess your application is asked. Further information will be requested from selected performers. See the section on Selection Procedure in the Performer Application Guidelines for more information.

This is an electronic form and we have endeavoured to make it as easy to navigate and fill in as possible.

We urge all performers to assist us by lodging their application electronically.

If there is a genuine reason why you cannot complete this form online, please contact us for a paper version to be sent to you.

Please read our Performer Application Guidelines before filling out this form.

It is suggested that you read through this form first to ascertain the information that you require to complete it. For example, it would be wise to have prepared your act description and outlines of any workshops beforehand which you can then copy and paste into the form.

If you supply an email address, then we will send you a confirmation of your registration. Please check that you have given us your correct email address.

Please do NOT send us any additional promotional material at this stage, unless we have specifically requested it. If you do not have any sound or video samples available to view on the internet that is representative of the Act applying, then please send us a CD or DVD that we can use to assess your Act. See the Support Material section in the Performer Application Guidelines for more information. All supporting materials must be forwarded by post within two weeks of submitting your Expression of Interest.

Part E Technical Requirements

Please note that successful applicants will be sent a stage plan and technical details form to complete with their contract. However please advise us now if your act has any particular technical requirement beyond what would be considered a normal number of DIs and microphones, etc. For example, you might have an unusual instrument requiring special micing or special lighting requirements, or a requirement for an extended performance space, etc

Part F Availability

The festival commences on Friday at 1pm and finishes Sunday at 6pm. Please specify when you are available each day. Please note that in order to minimise the problems in scheduling performances, we look more favourably upon performers who are available for the entire duration of the festival and don't place too many restrictions on their availability.

Part G Volunteering

The festival is run by volunteers. It is really appreciated and highly regarded if booked performers also offer to help during the festival. We are always looking for MC's and venue managers in particular.

Part H Accommodation

Accommodation and billets are very limited. The Festival would really appreciate as many performers camping as possible. The campsite is within the festival site and vehicles are able to be parked adjacent to sites. Powered sites are available but these cannot be booked. We do reserve a few sites for disabled patrons.

Part I Remuneration

What is your Fee?

Please include all travel costs and GST (if applicable) in the fee. Please bear in mind that ours is a small, self-funded, not-for-profit festival run by volunteers when considering what fee to ask.

Tickets for partners and children are provided but the Festival does not provide any drink or food hospitality. The festival will provide accommodation either as camping with all amenities (preferred) or billeted with local residents (limited)

Part J Advertising and Promotion

If selected:

Would you permit a recorded track for inclusion on a Festival CD for promotional radio use?

Would you permit a recorded track considered for inclusion on a Festival CD to be sold to assist the Festival fundraising effort (this track would be offered free of royalties and payments)

We may plan to undertake television, radio or internet broadcast promotion opportunites that may benefit the performers and the festival. Unfortunately there is no guarantee that there is time to view these recordings before use. Are you happy to be recorded?

Part K Involvement in the Folk Scene
