2011 Cobargo Folk Festival sampler CD

The 24 acts presented on this CD represent less than half the number of acts appearing at the festival but give a good sample of the genres and talent that will be on show. The festival always endeavours to present a range of international, national and local acts. This year we have two performers from overseas – Dana Lyons from USA and Martyn Wyndham-Read from UK. In addition, we are proud to again present The Fagans – a true “inter-national” group with two members residing in the UK and the others in Australia. Lhamo Dolma, a Tibetan singer now residing in Australia, makes a welcome return having been so well received at last year’s festival.
There is an enormous pool of talent in our local region. From its inception, the Cobargo Folk Festival has showcased much of the talent from the Bega Valley and the SE region. This year we have over 20 local acts on the program, five of which are included on this CD
Our sincere thanks go to all the performers who generously allowed the use of their music to make this CD possible. If you like the sample of their work then consider supporting them by purchasing their own recordings
This CD also includes three tracks that are not currently available on any other CD, being demo or unreleased live recordings.
Enjoy the festival and enjoy the CD!
