The Cobargo Folk Festival in conjunction with Pirate Studios will be looking to “discover” some new talent at the festival worthy of encouragement.

1) Two days studio time and full mastering of CD at Pirate Studios near Bournda (value $1000-1200)

2) A spot on the Gulaga stage (the venue being recorded by local ABC radio) on Sunday afternoon

3) A copy of our 2010 Festival CD and a double pass to 2011 Cobargo Folk Festival

4) A guaranteed spot on the program for the 2011 Cobargo Folk Festival

This will not be run as a competition but rather we will be “talent scouting” the festival, particularly the Blackboard concerts and the Crossing youth venue. The winner may even be found busking!

The only criteria is that the act must be non-professional and without an existing commercially available CD, and lives in the SE region (roughly Wollongong to Canberra to the border).

A representative from each of Pirate Studios, the Cobargo Folk Festival committee and The Crossing will choose the awardee.

So, all you budding performers get along to the festival and strut your stuff at the various blackboard (open mic) venues – you may be discovered and start your recording career!
